Monica Chavous Hall is a woman that has been serving God for over 35 years. Her leadership experience started in the late 90’s when she assisted her mother with starting a children’s choir. Since then, Monica has been active in ministries in music, non-profit, prison, senior saints, praise/worship and children’s ministries.
In 2012, Monica enrolled in Biblical Seminary to pursue a Masters of Divinity. Her initial goals were to become a better mother and wife and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the Bible. Through her journey, Monica received many affirmations to pursue ministry leadership. She was the first female to be the president of a cohort at the Seminary and remained president for 3 years. Monica also started the BTS Sisterhood which is women alumnae and students that are committed to following Jesus through love, support, encouragement, prayer, sharing, study and striving to help each other in God’s mission in the world so we can in turn help others join the journey of following Christ.
Upon graduation with distinction, Monica received the President’s Award which is presented to a graduating male and female student who best exemplify the mission of the school to incarnate and communicate the story of Jesus with humility and authenticity, fidelity to Scripture, appreciation of the Christian tradition and sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of postmodern culture.
Monica has blended her 15 years of human resources experience with her academic and ministry experience. Her personal definition of leadership is positively influencing others to change, grow and develop into the most successful person possible. Monica was licensed in 2016 and ordained in 2018. She has served on the board for the Philadelphia Baptist Association and is an active member of the Wissahickon Faith Community Association and Suburban Baptist Association.
Currently, Monica is the Spiritual Care and Bereavement Coordinator for Foulkeways at Gwynedd. She coordinates and facilitates Spiritual and Bereavement services and is part of the Hospice team at this Continuing Care Retirement Community. Monica has always had a desire to help people and is looking forward to all that God has for her.
